The Time Tunnel was a television program from the late 1960s where two young scientists get caught in an unpredictable time machine that deposits them at random points in the past and future. Gold Key dutifully adapted the series in comic book form, using the time travelling premise to inspire adventures in Civil War-era America, the Roman empire, the prehistoric age of dinosaurs, and a near-future Mars space mission. The comics feature painted covers with photo insets from the TV program and the usual workmanlike Gold Key storytelling style. Apparently neither the show nor the comic was a big hit (though the premise would eventually inspire the successful 1990s TV series Sliders). Time Tunnel was off the shelves and off the air by the end of 1967.
