Your Mommy Kills Animals!

It’s not a comic book, but this comic-style propaganda sheet is so lurid, so shameless...so quintessentially PETA that we had to include it. This piece received national media attention when it was released, with a Tales From the Crypt-style front which reminds one exactly why the Comics Code was introduced.

Always the masters of media manipulation, extremist group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) thus scores again with this comic-style handout which advises children to “Ask your mommy how many dead animals she killed to make her fur clothes. Then tell her than you know she paid men to hurt and kill the animals. Everyone knows. And the sooner she stops weaing fur, the sooner the animals will be safe. Until then, keep your doggie or kitty friends away from mommy—she’s an animal killer!” All this is accompanied by the requisite gruesome pictures of skinned animals. Depending on your sense of humor, this is either offensive raving at their worst, or droll provocateurism at its best.
