According to the introductory text, this title's goal is “to provide comic book fans and collectors with quality, inexpensive reprints of rare Golden Age comic books, ” and so it does.

In many respects, life was a lot simpler in the 1940s. Comic books certainly were, like this Golden Age title that presents short, serialized adventures, sometimes as many as 10 per issue. Each tale features noble and daring heroes, like the Silver Streak himself, a square-jawed star who takes time out from races around the world to save damsels and thwart criminal activities; and the Daredevil, a fearless hero who battles crime to avenge the deaths of his parents. Naturally the stories also feature dastardly villains, like the Green Claw, who would destroy the world with missiles if only heroes like scientist-adventurer Carl Tarrant weren’t around to defeat him.

For every story featuring a costumed hero, there’s another featuring a cowboy, or a scientist, or a fearless pilot. Fun stuff, from a time when the world was different and comics were a little simpler.
