Warren Van Gale is scared of his own shadow—and with good reason. Having been scarred by a terrible childhood, he was eventually driven to commit a terrible act. To deal with the consequences of his actions, Warren somehow separated his dark half—his shadow—from himself. In the seventeen years since, Van Gale has led a comfortable, predictable life. And his shadow has begun a life of its own.

The shadow began to roam, searching the nearby streets and alleyways in search of souls to feed on. It spoke to any vulnerable souls it encountered, drowning them in their own insecurities and weaknesses. It would destroy their world, then it would drive them to the suicide that Van Gale never got around to. Afterward, it fed.

This creepy, six-issue Vertigo mini-series was written by John Van Rieber and illustrated by John Van Fleet.
