Punisher Summer Special

    (Marvel, 1991-1994)
™ and ©1992 Marvel Entertainment Group

Appearing for the first time in the summer of 1991, the Punisher Summer Special served up four hot new Punisher stories for readers’ viewing pleasure. A solid collection of Punisher thrillers, they included “Bombs ’R’ Us” (where a killer cuts loose at an arms show that the Punisher was visiting), “Independence Day,” in which the Punisher played guardian angel to an embattled cop, and “Crossed Purposes,” which found the Punisher beholden to a man he had set out to kill.

Marvel reprised the series again in 1992, bringing three new Punisher stories to its fevered readers. Among these were a showdown with the twisted Col. De Sade, and a hilarious short story featuring an insurance agent who tries desperately to make a sale in the middle of a firefight between the Punisher and an L.A. street gang.
