Grateful Dead Comix takes lyrics from the legendary band and adapts their stories to comic form. Although this is of obvious appeal to fans of the Grateful Dead, comics lovers should also take note of the wide variety of inspired artwork from the likes of Timothy Truman and Nina Paley.

In a nice touch, the book is printed on recycled paper with soy-based inks. The credits also note that “…with its high fiber content and soybean ink, this is probably a very tasty product if stir-fried with a little tarragon and basil. Maybe some hot sauce, too.”
