In the early part of the twenty-first century, humanity began dying from a mysterious plague, and a group of scientists who called themselves the Overlords gathered together to find a cure. Once the disease that preyed upon mankind was a memory, the Overlords set themselves up as the rulers of the world and began experimenting with genetics to repopulate the planet. Out of these experiments came Shar-Pei, a genetically engineered warrior based on an ancient Chinese fighting dog, “calm in spirit [and] fierce in combat.” It is this warrior who will free humanity from the control of the Overlords in this three-issue limited series from writer Tom Sniegoski (Angel) and artist Mark Masztal (Sinergy).
