Crash Metro & the Star Squad

Mike Alfred and Martin Ontiveros have created a science fiction tale with everything the classics from the fifties might have contained and then some.

Star Squad is your standard patrol ship cruising the stars, aiding citizens in distress, and on the lookout for any sign of the mysterious Cybots, strange robotic creatures bent of the extermination of human kind. The Squad’s leader is Crash Metro, square jawed and straight shooting. His brother is killed by a Cybot ambush. The Squad rescues a group of colonists and picks up an alien visitor who joins the team. Finally, they think they have found the Cybot home world, but the rest of the fleet may not arrive in time to save them, so they must go it alone in order to stop the dreaded enemy. By the end of the book, you will feel as if you’ve just read the plots of every major science fiction story and movie from the past half century.

Amazingly, it works. This was a fun romp and harkens to a simpler time of story telling.
