Silencers (Caliber)

The Cold War was over, but both sides still play the old games—particularly in East Berlin. With the Stasi disbanded, running spies was supposed to be a breeze now. But in the spy business, things can always go wrong. Terribly wrong.

The average life expectancy for a Silencer—a British Intelligence field agent—was eighteen months. Mr. Frost had been a Silencer for eighteen years. But his East German contact’s identity was blown and minutes later Frost had taken three bullets in the chest. Only the timely intervention of agent Twist had saved his life.

It was time to put the old warhorse out to pasture and to welcome the new breed of Silencers—men like James McNeil. These were the bright young things who would risk their lives in a game where few grow old.
