The Arm of Kannon
(Tokyopop, 2004-2006)
™ and © 2004 Masakazu Yamaguchi
Read right to left; Graphic novel; Adult violence; b&w.
The Arm of Senju Kannon was a thing of myth, an object of pure power created by the Goddess of Mercy. When a scholar learns from rumors that the arm actually exists at a Buddhist temple, he steals it, hoping to learn more about the legend. But the powerful evil within the arm possesses him, and the Arm cannot even be stopped by the scholar’s death, soon moving on to his son, Mao.
Everyone wants the arm for their own purposes, from the weapons manufacturer hoping to replicate its power to the Buddhist monks who simply wish to contain it. It’s a race to see who can get to Mao first, but that won’t matter if Mao can’t control the evil infecting his body and unleashes the Arm of Senju Kannon on the world.
