UltraForce/Avengers
(Malibu, 1995)
™ and © Malibu Comics Entertainment, Inc. and Marvel Comics entertainment Group
In 1995, Marvel Comics, the leading publisher in the comic book industry, bought Malibu Comics, publishers of the Ultraverse line of comics, cards, and toys. The one-shot UltraForce/Avengers was an early indication of that corporate merger, taking place in a warped merging of the two universes. It’s the continuation of the earlier battle in Avengers/UltraForce #1.
Both the Avengers and UltraForce members exist in altered form in this story, with different costumes and associations. They are called upon to stop Loki, the Norse god of Mischief who has decided once again to threaten mankind in order to vex his brother Thor. The results of their conflict will fracture the world once again.
This one-shot story was written by Warren Ellis and illustrated George Pérez.
