Indiana Jones: Thunder in the Orient

Indiana Jones is the swashbuckling star of three popular movies from George Lucas (Star Wars). These films showed the daring archaeologist/adventurer taking on all manner of danger in order to retrieve such legendary artifacts as the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail.

In Dan Barry’s original story, “Thunder in the Orient,” Indy takes on everyone from camel-riding treasure bandits to the Japanese army as he races to find clues leading him to one of the most spectacular finds of all time: the original covenant of Buddha with his disciples. It had previously been thought that five hundred years had passed since Buddha’s words were passed down strictly by word of mouth. This led to variations that had splintered Buddhism into dozens of different sects. If the original could be found, it might bring Asia’s 500 million Buddhists together. They would be an awesome force, one that evil forces would love to turn to their own advantage!
