Independent publisher Chaos! Comics was enjoying a huge success in 1995 with their characters Evil Ernie and Lady Death. Late in that year, they launched Chaos! Quarterly, a deluxe comic anthology featuring not only those star characters, but also an assortment of newcomers such as Cremator and Bad Girls. All of these creations shared a certain appetite for destruction, featuring demons, vampires, and other ghouls who were having a very good time doing evil.

Chaos! founder Brian Pulido wrote many of the stories, working with an assortment of artists. Issue #2 featured a striking Boris Vallejo cover depicting Lady Demon.
