Sisterhood of Steel

This series tells the tale of a group of women warriors known as “the Sisterhood.” Set in the age of the longsword and the crossbow, these women live apart from men, honing their skills as warriors in a separate society. Although the women are allowed to use men for their own pleasure, they are forbidden to fall in love or marry. And any attempt to leave the Sisterhood carries a penalty of death.

This story centers around Boronwë, a young woman who is coming of age and facing the final tests of membership into the Sisterhood. When her best friend decides to leave the Sisterhood to run off with a man she loves, Boronwë has to choose between loyalty to her friend and duty to the Sisterhood.
