Jeffrey Dahmer vs. Jesus Christ
(Boneyard, 1993)
™ and ©1993 Hart D. Fisher
The title and cover of this black and white one–shot from Boneyard Press are somewhat misleading—J.D. and J.C. spend only two pages actually duking it out. The rest of the book depicts a series of fist fights and gun battles on the front lawn of the White House between George Bush, Dan Quayle, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Ross Perot, several unidentified cowboys, and three muscle–bound clerics calling themselves the Holy Trinity of Doom. They’re all pawns in a grudge match between God and Satan, with a couple of cases of Lone Star going to the winning deity.
Written by Hart D. Fisher (the driving force behind most of the Boneyard Press line), and drawn by Nelson Danielson, this book alternates between weird shocks and extreme silliness. If nothing else, it’s evidence that freedom of the press is alive and well in the world of comics.
