Death’s Head II is part “Predator,” part “Terminator,” and has about 104 personalities left to spare. He is a schizophrenic, wise-cracking, unstoppable cyborg and mercenary. What’s more, he is his own sequel, having replaced the original Death’s Head cyborg.

What started out as an oddball concept in hunter-killer robots is maturing into a fine comic title with the release of this Marvel UK series, following on the heels of the spectacular Death’s Head II (Vol. 1). At its best, the series paints the present day slowly slipping into the apocalyptic future from which Death’s Head II hails. Even his encounters with such heroes as the X-Men are strangely dark and foreboding. At times like this we can really appreciate how the creation of the Marvel UK universe has added new depth to the Marvel universe.
