Welcome to Paragon City, a place filled with heroes and, inevitably, villains. From the appearance of the city’s first super-powered crusader, Statesman, in 1931, Paragon City has been the center of the super-hero universe. On May 23, 2002, the alien Rikti invaded the earth and began their war of mass extermination. Paragon City was especially hard hit, with all but eight of their heroes massacred. When the Rikti were defeated, Statesman made a call to all the world’s heroes: “Come to Paragon City and make it livable again.” As the world’s champions flocked to the City of Heroes, so do super-villains eager to fill the power vacuum left by the invasion of this once great city.

Based on the massive, and massively popular, on-line role-playing game of the same name, read along whilst alliances such as Freedom Phalanx and heroes such as Statesman, Manticore, Synapse and Sister Psyche battle the Outcasts and other malevolent groups.
