Super-heroes have their own associations, leagues, and teams, so why shouldn’t the bad guys have them as well? A wealthy financier, who turns out to be Darkseid himself, sets up some of DC’s most unique villains in a high rise in San Francisco. Among the villains teamed up together are Gorilla Grodd, a highly mentally advanced simian with telepathic powers; Mantis, who can drain the energy of her opponents; Hi-Jack, who uses special “playing cards” as a weapon; and Captain Cold, the chilling master of ice. Often infiltrated by super-heroes, this secret society ends up fighting among itself about as often as it fights the heroes it was meant to defeat.
