Zero Taker
(Curtis, 2002)
™ and © Curtis
While Japanese comics had penetrated the U.S. mainstream by the early 2000s, the same could not be said for the Korean titles that were gradually being introduced to the country. Zero Taker is one of the first Korean comics to make it to America. In this sci-fi series by writer klmgOOn and artist Yoonyeol Choi, a neo-city is under the jurisdiction of both the United States and Japan. Roaming the streets of this neo-city are mutant humans caused by an unknown virus, and the only person who can stop them is Zero Taker. Although technically not manga, Zero Taker has enough stylistic similarities to appeal to fans of Japanese comics.
