Green Arrow: The Wonder Year

In this four-part mini-series, DC updates the story of Green Arrow’s origin, setting it in politically-torn 1972. Oliver Queen fell off of a yacht and had to learn how to use a bow and arrow in order to survive on an isolated island. Luckily, some marijuana farmers, using the island to grow their illicit crop, came to harvest it and Oliver Queen managed to hitch a ride back to civilization.

But he’s no longer the playboy millionaire he used to be. Instead of dabbling in the mundane day-to-day affairs of Queen Enterprises, he has taken to donning a Robin Hood costume and searching for adventure. When he thwarts the would-be assassin of a popular politician, the public recognizes that a new hero has arisen…
