Superheroes
(Dell, 1967)
™ and ©1966 Dell Publishing Co.
Dell introduced Superheroes in 1967. The star of the series was a rather mediocre super-hero group known as the Fab Four.
The Fab Four consists of three males and a female, with some of the more unfortunate names in all of super-hero comics. The group is led by El, who can fire lasers from his eyes. The female of the group is Polly, named as such because she is heat resistant like polymer. The other two are called Hy and Crispy. Hy can emit high-pitched sonic blasts and Crispy can control cold temperatures. All four heroes are androids, and were created when the minds of four visiting children were accidentally transferred into robotic display statues in the “Future Room” of the fictional Dell Hall of Heroes.
This campy series lasted just four issues before Dell canceled it in 1968.
