Troy

    (Tome, 1997)
™ and © 1997 Gary Reed

Like writer/artist Eric Shanower’s Age of Bronze, writer Gary Reed and artist Philip Xavier’s Troy purports to tell the tale of the Trojan War in its entirety, backstory and all. A noble endeavor to say the least, and like Shanower’s treatment, Troy’s story is excellent, though not as artfully rendered. Still, this tale of heroes and legends is not to be missed; its devotion and adherence to its subject matter—from Homer’s The Iliad to the works of the great Greek tragedians—is both impressive and inspiring.
