Millennium Edition: Tales Calculated to Drive You Mad

Back in the early ’50s, publisher EC Comics—perhaps best known for its horror and science fiction titles—decided to try something a little different. And then some. The result was a bizarre monthly humor magazine, which spoofed movies, television, and virtually every other aspect of popular culture, including the very horror comics that EC published. Super-hero titles weren’t safe either, which spawned such classic parodies as “Superduperman,” among others. DC’s Millennium Edition lovingly brings the full-color comic to a modern audience just as it originally appeared.

Better yet, this series—which was later reborn as the black-and-white monthly magazine known simply as “Mad”—featured classic work from the company’s stable of accomplished artists, including Wally Wood, Jack Davis, and John Severin.
