A new look at the world of vampires. Melchior is several hundred years old and is becoming mellow with age. He helps families find lost relatives, punishes drug pushers by stealing their blood with a syringe rather than ripping their throats out and drinking it straight, and sleeps in a plasma-filled isolation chamber. Some of the powers are familiar such as changing form from nasty creature of the night to a cloud of gas. Another ability, which may turn out to be interesting, is being able to know a person’s memories from their blood.
