Crucible

Appearing months after the last of the Impact titles were cancelled, Crucible is either a tribute to fallen heroes or the ushering in of a new era. It all takes place six months after the fall of the Crusaders. In that final story, the Comet, branded a criminal, was revealed to have been killed. The Crusaders, who had banded together to capture him decided that this was the final straw and disbanded. They stepped into interdimensional doors meant to take them home and disappeared. They were not seen again.

Now, a boy named Nathan Cray wears the Black Hood, fighting crime in a world otherwise without heroes. Meanwhile, renegade agents of the Web who go by the name of the Tomorrow Men have stumbled on the Crucible. This is a strange place which drifts free in the time continuum, letting them view the past and future. Looking through time, they plan to control the future—and manipulating Cray is the first step in doing so.
