This three-issue mini-series gives the origin of Supreme, the most powerful character in the Image universe. Like Captain America, Supreme was the result of a World War II-era experiment designed to produce the perfect soldier.

At first, the experimental program was a colossal failure, with each of the convicted felons who volunteered winding up dead as a result. The sixth subject was Ethan Crane, the convicted son of a Bible-thumping revival preacher. Ethan also died from the treatment, but three days later, he remarkably came back from the dead, stronger than before. Convinced they had stumbled across a subject with a uniquely regenerative cell structure, the scientists then proceeded to kill Ethan again and again. Each time, he came back, stronger than before until he can no longer be controlled. The government had created a “supreme” being—as well as secretly creating an insurance policy in the form of a secret clone of Supreme!
