The Score is a tale of two cities. The first is New Hollywood, a place of movie stars, beautiful people, and gilded corruption. Next door is the real Hollywood, which the residents call “Hellywood.” It’s the place where you go when your dreams have been dashed into the gutter and you have to live like an animal in order to survive.

Phillip Sand was a rock star, one of New Hollywood’s exalted residents. Then he fell from grace, his mind and memory blasted away on drugs, and awoke on the mean streets of Hellywood where he didn’t even know his own name. He would have died were it not for the kindness of a hooker who protected him from the jackals, then introduced him to people who gave him a real lesson in how the other half lives. Hellywood was a no-man’s land where life was cheap and the police belonged to the highest bidder. Sand was the key to changing all this, because although he didn’t know it yet, he knew the Score…
