Its title is a parody of The Uncanny X-Men as well as a reference to B-sides, the often-lackluster songs on the flip of a vinyl single. Combine them both and the result is a group of super-heroes that are at the bottom rung of the Marvel Universe ladder. Featuring Fateball, Jughandle, and Mize, the B-Sides hail from the unlikely super-hero town of Raven’s Perch, New Jersey. The Craptacular B-Sides is an attempt from Marvel Comics to seem hip with youngsters, creating a cult team of losers who provide an alternative to the company’s grim yet always fashionable mutants.
