Art School Superstars

When does a comic book hardly seem like a comic book? When it’s actually a series of full-page portraits of real art school students at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. Not self-portraits, since these head shots are done by one a single, talented artist, each picture is accompanied by personal statements describing their artistic influences, hopes, dreams, and more. “Are they the art stars of tomorrow?” Who knows? They have to come from somewhere; perhaps it will be here.

This creative and personal look at the lives and motivations of college art students is something unique and realistically drawn. Convincingly written, too, because after all, they’re real people’s words.
