Midnight Days (Neil Gaiman’s…)

Neil Gaiman did some fantastic work before Sandman. This graphic novel contains five never-before-reprinted stories and one unpublished Swamp Thing tale with all-new artwork.

“Jack in the Green” is a tale of the medieval Swamp Thing in the midst of a plague-ridden land with art by Stephen Bissette and John Totleben. In “Brothers,” we witness the return of Brother Power and learn he is more of a force of nature than we were led to believe in the late sixties. “Shaggy God Stories” tell us what happened to Jason Woodrue, the Floronic Man, and his meeting with the Parliament of Trees. “Hold Me” is a Hellblazer story that is justifiably Gaiman’s favorite. Finally, Sandman Midnight Theatre sends Wesley Dobbs to England, investigating a series of mysterious deaths and briefly coming across an entity in a glass box that shares its name with that of his alter-ego.
