Springing from the pages of Spawn and the mind of Todd McFarlane (Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk (Vol. 2)) the fearless detectives that hunted down and became allies of the hellspawn Al Simmons are now out on their own comic series! They’re still dealing with the hellish crimes that plague the Earth, of course, but their quarry are now mostly human. Written by Marc Andreyko (Torso along with Brian Michael Bendis), Case Files is moody and dark, living up to the moniker of ‘hard-edged crime fiction.’ The art is by indie-hero Scott Morse (Visitations, Soulwind), who makes a departure from his normal cartoon- and animation-influenced work but nonetheless packs the emotional punch of an accomplished painter and artist in this gloom and doom series.
