Upon gathering the first pieces of the puzzle, Batman discovers that he has stumbled onto an unfinished black-op job that involved a deadly S.O.G. (Special Operations Group) assassin and his target—a madman whose touch was fire and death. This firebug killer has surfaced in Gotham and in order to stop him the master detective must first find the truth about the man with a hidden past, the man with a license to kill and who could not be killed—the man named Michael Cray, a.k.a. Deathblow!
