In the past 450 years, Pern has not experienced the deadly rain of Threads. Only dragons and their riders were able to burn them before they ravished the land. Now the Threads have passed into legend and the people of Pern are unhappy that they must keep these obsolete protectors of the land fed and sheltered.

Only the new weyrleader F’lar, his brother F’nor and his new weyrwoman Lessa believe that the Threads will fall once again. They must convince a planet that the danger is real and somehow find enough dragons to protect the planet once again…

Anne McCaffrey has made something of a career of dragon-based fantasy, ever since her classic “Dragonriders of Pern.” This three-issue series is an adaptation of McCaffrey’s “Dragonflight” novel.
