Wild Stars (Vol. 3)
(Little Rocket, 2001-2002)
™ and © Michael Tierney
There is so much going on in this self-published series that has been carried over from the previous two volumes of Wild Stars that is hard to know where to start, but we’ll try, faithful fanboy (fangirl)! Apparently, invaders from another reality have come to Earth and plan on taking over. In their mad dash to control all human life, they have loosed serial killers into the countryside, made alliances with evil invading aliens who wanted to make Jupiter into a sun, thereby turning Earth to ash, and are somehow descended from our own Genghis Khan. Who’s to stop these power-mad extra-dimensional tyrants, you ask? Why a “shamaness,” her wolf and the ghost of a civil war hero whose spirit is trapped in a tree! One of the most redeeming aspects of the series are the covers by sci-fi pulp artist Frank Brunner (Man-Thing, Dr. Strange.)
