Billy Nguyen, Private Eye
(Attitude Zone, 1988)
™ and ©1988 John Hartman and Stanley W. Shaw
Billy Nguyen, full-time private detective and part-time bartender, reluctantly agrees to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Seattle’s finest bums. But when the case leads deep into the city’s hidden Underground, Billy has a close encounter with a mad scientist and his giant, man-eating slug.
Luckily, Billy’s friends have got his back covered. There’s Beep, the over-the-hill skateboard junkie, and Jones, the wealthy pretty-boy cop, and Tiger, the, uh, well, the big gay guy. Of course, by the time these guys stop bickering and figure out a plan, Billy’s pretty much gonna be slug-bait.
Although primarily set in Seattle, it’s a slightly different city and world than the one we’re used to. In this alternate reality, America is composed of seven different nations, Alaska is part of Imperial Russia, and Germany is still controlled by Nazis.
