Justice League: A Midsummer’s Nightmare
(DC, 1996)
™ and © 1996 DC Comics
Kyle Rayner is a comic book artist. Clark Kent is a mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper. Diana Prince and Wally West are teachers. J’onn J’onzz is a scientist and a family man. Bruce Wayne and Arthur Curry are corporate moguls. And that’s it. Nothing more. These seven people don’t realize that they’re also Green Lantern, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, the Martian Manhunter, Batman and Aquaman. Meanwhile, a great number of people around the world are “sparking”—spontaneously developing super-powers. Who is behind this strange turn of events that leads to the reformation of the Justice League of America? Find out in this excellent mini-series from writers Mark Waid (Kingdom Come, Captain America) and Fabian Nicieza (Gambit, Turok) and artists Jeff Johnson (Green Lantern) and Darick Robertson (Transmetropolitan) that sets the stage for the monthly JLA title.
