Superman: The Legacy of Superman

    (DC, 1993)
DC

For as long as anyone could remember, Superman had been the guardian of the city of Metropolis. When he died in Superman (2nd Series) #75, he left behind a city sorely in need of a hero. Instead, it got a whole group of them.

Superman: The Legacy of Superman features five heroes who stepped in to fight crime in Metropolis. First up is the Guardian, a super-powered creation of the Cadmus Project. Next comes Rose Forrest, a gentle woman who switches personalities when needed to become the fearless Thorn. The third hero featured is Jose Delgado, a man who fought for justice in the slums he grew up in as Gangbuster. He is followed by Sinbad, a boy with flight powers who must stop thieves who have stolen weaponry from Lex Luthor. The final story is of Matthew Ryder, a.k.a. Waverider. He has the ability to go back in time and stop Superman from being killed—and the responsibility to leave the timeline alone.
