Calibrations (3rd Series)

Calibrations was an inexpensive (99¢) showcase title meant to introduce readers to the quality art and storytelling of the Caliber comics line. Talented creators like Marc Andreyko, Jill Thompson, Warren Ellis, Ken Meyer, Jr. and others were featured in two short black-and-white stories per issue.

Calibrations #1 presented a tale of The Lost by Andreyko and Thompson, where the “real” Peter Pan, representing a violent, primordial personification of nature, comes to take revenge on a stage actress for turning him into a children’s story. Also, Ellis and Meyer combined efforts on the first of a five-part serial called “Atmospherics,” where the reader must judge whether a woman accused of mass murder is actually the victim of an alien conspiracy.
