X-TV

    (Comic Zone, 1992)
™ and ©1992 Rankin Studios Inc.

Ostensibly a humor title, X-TV attempted to parody popular television shows. The humor was entirely dependent on scandalous sexual antics of characters that were decidedly chaste by necessity of the broadcast standards. The first issue of this title focused on “Lost in Space” cleverly calling it “Lust in Space.” The art by Mark Voger is cartoony and does not bear any resemblance to the characters for which the actors should be eternally grateful. No real sense of satire is displayed, but instead characters act completely out of character by being sexually obsessed. The second and last issue featured “Quantum Leap” retitled “Condom Leap.” Television parodies are done with much more style, talent and humor by Mad Magazine.
