Lunatik

The Lunatik of this series is not the criminal first seen Defenders #53, back in the 1970s. This Lunatik is an alien from the planet Wy’nkar-7, who mutated from a mean, one-cell organism into a progressively meaner being—eventually wiping out all other life on the planet. Just before it could starve to death as a result, the Interstel Church of Perpetual Annoyance made a recruiting trip to the planet. After wiping out the crew, the being (now called Lunatik) proceeded to use its spacecraft to travel to other worlds.

After spying an old television broadcast featuring the Defenders fighting our own Lunatik, the alien took a trip to Earth so that he could establish his claim on the name. Within moments of landing in the rest home which now housed the aging Lunatik I, he simplified the world for comic indexers by flushing Lunatik I down a toilet. Then it was off to create mayhem in the most Lobo-like tradition Keith Giffen (creator of both characters) could muster.
