Several million years ago, the Sorcerer of Sound created Boogieland and the Music Universe (a.k.a. the Dimension of Musical Thought). In the years that followed, the Music Lords came and recorded their brainwaves (the source of jazz, funk, rock, blues, and classical music) onto satellite records. Spun on orbital rocket discs by the hippest DJ in Boogie Land, Doctor Boogie and his band of robotic assistants broadcast this “Brainwave Music” via the “Brainwave Channel” to all aspiring musicians in the multi-verse. The music is transmitted as inspiration, appearing to rock ‘n roll hopefuls in their dreams and through their subconscious minds.

Battling such evils as dirt blobs, no-talent musicians and evil record producers, Doctor Boogie fights to protect the Music Universe from ultimate destruction and worse yet…music pollution!

Obviously targeting fans of the record industry, the 1987 Media Arts Publishing effort packed high production value into a tightly focused book to create the epitome of an “indie” title. For those not hip to all the music references, the book sports a glossary of Boogieland terms on its back cover.
