Superman: Our Worlds at War

™ and ©2002 DC Comics

Imperiex is, according to Adam Strange, the Destroyer; the Be-All and End-All, and his role in the Great Scheme is to destroy the universe so a new one can replace it. The Imperiex threat was deemed so grave that Superman allied himself with Lex Luthor, Mongul, Darkseid, and even Doomsday to thwart what appears to be DC’s version of Galactus. Along the way, many plot twists and surprising developments unfolded, although a few of them, such as the deaths of Superman’s adoptive parents and Aquaman were exaggerated. Conversely, Lois Lane’s father and Wonder Woman’s mother were actual casualties. This story is so massive in its scope that reading it in a collected format is an asset to keeping all of the players straight.

This 2-volume trade paperback series collects “Our Worlds at War,” the company-wide crossover event from DC in 2001. Pertinent issues of Superman, Adventures of Superman, Action Comics, Superman: the Man of Steel, Supergirl and JLA: Our Worlds at War are included in this compilation.
