Hysteria

    (Oni, 2004)

A “flip-book” from Free Comic Book Day first premiered Sharknife, a Galactus–sized behemoth who battles Karate Ray, an “ambitious anti–hero” by his own admission. Not much depth followed in the proceedings, as the characters battle it out long enough for you to flip the comic book over to read the adventures of Hysteria. After a lengthy autobiographical introduction by Hysteria’s creator, the main story kicks into high gear in a tale that resembles a leftover script from The A-Team. Though funny, both stories would particularly appeal to fans of action adventure.
