Morlock 2001

It’s a bleak future ahead of us in the world of Morlock 2001. In its vision, the 1980s would see great book burnings, and by 2001, the world would be completely controlled by a totalitarian state. Concepts such as truth or value would become relative, controlled by the state to fit their needs of the moment.

In such a future, even a lowly botanist like Professor Kroshell was considered a threat. For daring to speak of such forbidden topics as truth, he was exiled from the university; for continuing his plant experiments, he was killed. But he left behind one fateful legacy: an artificial plant/man with the strange power to infect others with a deadly fungus, turning them into plants. Called “Morlock” (after the slaves in H.G. Wells’ “Time Machine”), he initially was the tool of the dictatorship. But he would break free from their manipulations, and lead the fight to bring about the regime’s downfall.
