Lobo: I Quit
(DC, 1995)
™ and ©1995 DC Comics, Inc.
Lobo is the big, bad, meanie from DC Comics. In his time, he has killed everyone on his home planet and was thrown out of Hell. Now in this one-shot special, he faces his greatest challenge: giving up smoking.
It seems that Lobo’s chain-smoking habit catches up with him. He’s a little slower when he kills entire cultures, he seems short on breath…and he’s wheezing. A buddy made a bet with him that he couldn’t quit for even a day. The bet is fifty thousand bucks. To meet the challenge, Lobo tried smokeless cigarettes, nicotine pills, and just plain old-fashioned abstinence. He even went to an acupuncturist, only to get stuck in the wrong place with a needle, inciting Lobo to pin the doctor to the wall.
Can it be that the Main Man is being laid low by nicotine neediness?
