Death Valley (Speakeasy)
(Speakeasy, 2005)
™ and © Speakeasy Comics
If Clint Eastwood had made just one more of Sergio Leone’s “spaghetti” westerns, this one might have been it. In fact, the main hero of Death Valley is drawn to look like Eastwood, just in case anyone missed the point. It concerns a train robbery that was supposed to be the John Fisher Gang’s last job before “retirement”. A bounty hunter intent on killing the gang drags the gang out for one more “shootout” with decidedly macabre results. Drawn in the style of the great John Severin, it resembles another long-lost entry from Two-Fisted Tales.
