This three-issue limited series from Malibu boasts short stories by the teams of Walt Simonson (Manhunter) and Peter Snejbjerg (Starman) and Matt Wagner (Grendel) and Teddy Kristiansen (House of Secrets), as well as the main three-part story by Henning Kure (Tarzan: The Beckoning), Snejbjerg, and Kristiansen. In “Tarzan’s First Love,” the young savage learns a hard lesson about the way of the jungle, while “The Scar” finds the Ape Man learning the ways of the civilized world. “Love, Lies and the Lost City” sees Tarzan becoming involved with the rescue of a group of bored thrill-seekers. Gorgeous artwork and solid storytelling make this limited series a worthwhile addition to the Lord of the Jungle’s mythos.
