Series continued from Jace Pearson of the Texas Rangers, Four Color Comics #648

Jace Pearson’s Tales of the Texas Rangers was a popular Western mystery/adventure series, first on radio and later on television. Set in the rough and rowdy days of the 1890s, Tales of the Texas Rangers features the adventures of the legendary state mounted police as they tackle train robbers, cattle rustlers, bandits and assorted trouble-makers. The time frame makes for interesting stories because it comes later than the true “frontier days” and features the systematic law-and-order approach of the Rangers (an organized police force) rather than the typical Western lone sheriff or vigilante. The comic version gets the typical Dell professional treatment, with well-constructed stories based on TV and radio scripts and solid if anonymous artwork.
