“Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird!”

“It’s a plane!”

“It’s a frog!”

“No, it’s not plane nor bird or even frog, it’s little old me, Underdog!”

In 1993, the much-loved cartoon hero Underdog returned to comics in this Harvey series. Underdog is the super-powered alter-ego of the meek Shoeshine Boy. When danger threatens (usually in the form of peril to his dear Polly Purebred), he swallows an energy pill hidden in his ring, and becomes the super-hero, Underdog.

The first issue of this series pits him against his archenemy Simon Bar Sinister, a mad scientist whose schemes include shrinking the world so that he could be the tallest man alive. A fun-filled, and long-running television series, its 1993 comic revival was regrettably short-lived, lasting just five issues.
