Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix

    (Dark Horse, 1994-1995)
™ and ©1995 Lucasfilm Ltd.

Before the premiere of the first Indiana Jones movie, “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” in 1981, archeology was not considered an exceptionally dangerous or exciting career. But then Dr. Indiana Jones is not an ordinary archeologist. Rather than sift through the ruins of ancient civilizations that only academics are interested in, Dr. Jones seeks out artifacts that power-hungry, would-be world conquerors are interested in.

In this mini-series from Dark Horse, Jones is on the trail of the legendary Philosophers Stone, which has the power to alter matter and has been divided into three parts. From Kiev in Russia to Ireland and then to the Himalayas of Tibet, Jones engages in a deadly scavenger hunt, tangling with Cossacks, murderous Druids and disarming Tibetan monks.

Like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, this story was initiated by Lucasfilm Games division and features outstanding cover paintings by Dave Dorman.
